Come and learn more about "The New Virginia Economic Workforce Initiative led by Secretary Commerce and Trade, Maurice Jones.

The plan includes a "Pathway to 50" goal for the attainment of 50,000 credentials, licensures, apprenticeships and associate degrees by Virginians. It also features "The Patriot Pledge," which will ask 10,000 Virginia businesses to pledge to hire more veterans.

On December 4, Jones will present a plan to create " A Diversified Dominion," with a goal of diversifying Virginia's economy with support for small businesses, startups, entrepreneurships and patent production.

The University of Mary Washington and the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce are committed to helping the Region’s business community grow and thrive. The UMW Center for Economic Development, the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the UMW College of Business are proud to present a year-long seminar series that will go back to the basics.  Each seminar will be taught by one of UMW?s expert faculty and will provide attendees with a well-rounded education on the most important business topics. UMW?s College of Business focuses on ?engaged learning? and each seminar will follow that philosophy.
