She has worked with both pediatric and adult oncology patients. She came to SRMC from Thomas Johns Cancer Center at Johnston Willis Hospital in Richmond. \n\n As the nurse navigator her responsibility is helping to guide patients that may or may not have cancer (final diagnosis may not be determined when she meets them for the first time) through the medical system. She teaches them about different options that may have been presented to them regarding their treatment. She follows the patient throughout their treatment into survivorship and for at least 1 year after completion of treatment. \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n The Chamber's Network of Enterprising Women (CNEW) holds monthly luncheon meetings on the third Tuesday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Each luncheon features a different topic/presentation.\n\n At each luncheon CNEW attendees have the opportunity to network with one another from 11:30 to 11:45 a.m. A marketing table is available for attendees to place their business information on and for attendees to gather information. The program officially begins at 11:45 a.m. with a welcome from the CNEW committee chair\; any first time attendees are asked to introduce themselves at this time. Lunch is served at noon and the monthly presentation begins at approximately 12:20 p.m. Following the presentation\, various prizes donated by Chamber members are raffled off to those attendees with raffle tickets.
