Dr. Klein was instrumental in founding the field of Naturalistic Decision Making\, and helped to initiate the new discipline of macrocognition.  He developed the Recognition-Primed Decision (RPD) model to describe how people actually make decisions in natural settings. His work has been incorporated into Army doctrine and inspired Malcolm Gladwell's Blink.
