All that come away have the same answer . . . there is something there.\n\nThe Plantation dates back to 1670 where is started as a 1000 acres tobacco farm. Birthplace of President James Madison and home to his mother's family\, the Conways\, this plantation has seen the making of America from the beginning. Lifetimes of happiness and tragedy would leave a lasting impression on this historic property.\n\nGhostly full-bodies apparitions of former families\, slaves and soldiers have been seen by many guests at Belle Grove Plantation. Former Slaves haunt the basement and historic Summer Kitchen. Held as a Union Headquarter from 1861 to the end of the American Civil War\, many Union Soldiers have been seen both inside and outside on the grounds.\n\nOvernight Guest have spoken of their encounters with two ghostly cats. From curling up on the bed with them at night\, brushes against their legs\, soft meowing and darting past them making our guest belief that they are real.\n\nOf the 80 ghostly residence\, none is more popular and known than our small boy ghost\, "Jacob". Known to move items\, peep at guests from doorways\, bounce balls up and down the hallway and library\, "Jacob" has even spoke to us through EVP (electronic voice phenomena) telling us that he is just 5 years old.\n\nParanormal activity such as orbs\, shadow figures\, apparitions\, disembodied voices\, draining batteries of flashlights\, cell phones and camera are just a few things you can expect when ghost hunting at Belle Grove. Most that come to find out\, left with stories to tell for years.
