SUMMARY:Unconditional Responsibility: Focus on Entrepreneurship
DESCRIPTION:A longtime Fredericksburg-area resident who built the Neibauer Dental Care business from scratch into a healthcare system with annual revenues exceeding $60 million will talk to local professionals and entrepreneurs about what it takes to achieve success at an event next month.\n\n\n\nDr. Chris Neibauer -- a dentist\, missionary\, author and thought-leader-- will be the keynote speaker at a Sept. 16 event at Seacobeck Hall at the University of Mary Washington. The event will begin at 6 p.m. and will include a networking reception along with Neibauer's presentation.\n\nTickets cost $20 each and are available through the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce's website at fredericksburgchamber.org.\n\nNet proceeds will help fund two upcoming events geared toward local entrepreneurs:\n\nFredXchange's Startup Weekend and the Next Generation of Business Leaders' Made in FredVA business plan competition.\n\nStartup Weekend Fredericksburg\, at which teams of entrepreneurs will take business ideas from concept to reality in 54 hours\, will be held Sept. 26-28 at Germanna Community College in Spotsylvania County. This will be FredXchange's third local Startup Weekend event.\n\nMade in FredVA\, which is patterned after ABC's "Shark Tank" show\, will be held in November at the Inn at the Old Silk Mill in Fredericksburg. The second-annual event will feature five finalists pitching their business ideas to three successful local entrepreneurs in pursuit of a significant cash prize toward startup expenses.\n\nNeibauer built the 26-practice Neibauer Dental Care business before selling it to Heartland Dental Care in 2011. He has since gotten into real estate investing and other endeavors\, including teaching the principles of what he calls "unconditional responsibility."\n\nPeople often pay more than $1\,000 to attend seminars Neibauer gives on his seven principles of unconditional responsibility\, which teach people how to design and live a life of health\, happiness and success. People who have heard his message often say it helped turn their lives around.\n\nNeibauer is generously donating his time Sept. 16 to allow FredXchange and the Next Generation of Business Leaders to raise money for their upcoming events\, which seek to build an entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Fredericksburg region.
