Hosted by the Fredericksburg Food Co-op located at 320 Emancipation Hwy, Fredericksburg, VA, 22401. Join FAM’s Curator of African American History, Dr. Gaila Sims, for an enlightening conversation with one of Fredericksburg’s most important community historians! For the last ten years, Ms. Eunice Haigler has organized local Juneteenth celebrations and was instrumental in making Juneteenth a state holiday here in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Delving into Ms. Haigler’s background in history, introduction to Juneteenth, and her current work as an activist and essential community organizer, this conversation will be a deeply personal glimpse into the life and work of a local icon.
