Business Leadership Roundtable
Description
Have you ever asked yourself any of the following questions:
- Can I be considered a leader even if I’m not the boss?
- How do I grow as a leader when I’m not in the top spot?
- Should I stop thinking about leadership now that I’m the CEO?
- Since they’re not my subordinates and I don’t report to them, does it really matter how I interact with my peers?
If your answer is “yes”, then I am pleased to announce the Chamber’s 2015 Business Leadership Roundtable Series. This new addition to our existing popular breakfast Roundtables will offer members a unique opportunity to hear leadership lessons from business leaders primarily associated with our Leadership Fredericksburg program.
Our first event occurs on Thursday, February 5 from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at HYATT PLACE FREDERICKSBURG at MARY WASHINGTON, 1241 Jefferson Davis Highway, Fredericksburg, VA 22401. We’ll ask these and other pertinent leadership questions to three outstanding professionals in three very different roles at the same company:
Dr. J.R. Flatter LF ’12 ; President/CEO, Flatter & Assoc.
Jeff Covino LF ‘13 ; Chief Operating Officer, Flatter & Assoc.
Brian Morgan LF ’14; Project Manager, Flatter & Assoc.
Flatter & Associates is a service-disabled veteran owned small business specializing in service support across an array of service areas. Their company slogan is “Excellence is our baseline.” Their President/CEO, J.R. Flatter, earned his Ph. D. in Leadership Development and he eagerly participated in Leadership Fredericksburg’s 2012 program. J.R. states that he believe he learns from everyone he encounters and that an individual’s leadership skills must always be cultivated. J.R., Jeff, and Brian will discuss the differences in their individual leadership styles; what triggers their best as well as their most difficult behaviors; how they’ve learned to lead within their company and externally in the community while finding the work/life balance that’s necessary for their success.
Registration is $15 per person and includes hot breakfast.
