Making Your Voice Heard: Writing Advocacy Letters That Get Read Join the League of Women Voters of the Fredericksburg Area for a community conversation and hands-on workshop on effective civic advocacy through writing. This informal, café-based event will explore how to write compelling letters to the editor and to public officials, what makes advocacy writing effective, and how grassroots advocacy differs from “astroturf” campaigns. The discussion will be guided by Martin Davis, Editor in Chief of the FXBG Advance, and Adele Uphaus, Managing Editor, who will share insight into how advocacy writing is read, evaluated, and published. Open to all community members—no prior experience, credentials, or organizational affiliation required. Designed as a relaxed, welcoming conversation among neighbors rather than a lecture. Date: Monday, February 16 Time: 6:00 PM Location: Curitiba Art Café, 919 Caroline St, Fredericksburg, VA 22401 Cost: Free
