CONNECTING OUR COMMUNITIES: BROADBAND’S ROLE IN THE ECONOMY
Congressman Rob Wittman
Rob Wittman was elected to represent Virginia’s First Congressional District in December
2007 and is currently serving his fifth full term in the House of Representatives. He serves
on the House Armed Services Committee, where he is Chairman of the Seapower and
Projections Forces Subcommittee, and the House Committee on Natural Resources.
Last year, Congressman Wittman helped establish the Rural Broadband Taskforce. It is
estimated that half of rural Virginians lack access to high-speed internet and another
29 percent do not have any internet service at all.
