Description
The Hub of HOPE, a 501(c)(3) organization with a mission of fighting food insecurity through HOPE (Helping Other People Eat), announced the approval of their permit and plans to begin construction of their fast-casual restaurant, HOPE HEROES: “A southern kitchen on a local mission”. The Groundbreaking ceremony will be held at their new location, in Cosner’s Corner, on Thursday, June 9th from 6 pm-7 pm at 9677 Patriot Highway, Fredericksburg, VA. Co-founders of the organization, Trenton and Deedre’ Stinson, have been very transparent and accountable with their unique social entrepreneurship model of fighting food insecurity in the Fredericksburg Region. While the organization has received widespread community support and donations; contributions alone are unable to fund the mission of HOPE (helping other people eat). The creation of sustainable food initiatives has been the goal from the start, in an effort to underwrite the costs associated with providing short-term food access to working individuals and families. After a successful first year, serving more than 44,000 meals to families and children; The Hub of Hope team is ecstatic to begin construction of this brand new initiative that is intended to be built by the community, for the community. “We are filled with great anticipation for the construction and completion of this one-of-a-kind fast-casual brand. It has been an arduous process, but we are thankful and excited that the time has finally come for everyone to be heroic. HOPE HEROES is built on the business model that when you choose to eat at our restaurant, you are a local hero because when you buy a bowl, you are helping to give a bowl.” said Trent Stinson, CEO of The Hub of Hope. The construction contract for HOPE HEROES was awarded to NOVA Retail Solutions out of Chantilly, VA due to their track record, integrity during the bidding process, and overall genuine support of the mission. General contractor, Sean Bordwell, has already created innovative ways to save the organization time and money without sacrificing quality. After announcing news of the Ground Breaking, there was an overwhelmingly positive response from the community that has been awaiting this announcement since the beginning. The Hub of Hope first shared its plans to launch a restaurant where people can make a difference in their community by simply enjoying food during their Grand Opening last year. “As a board member for The HOH, I am overwhelmed by the community support in helping us fight food insecurity. Now that we have our permit and are under construction building the Hope Heroes Restaurant, we get to celebrate our groundbreaking with our community supporters as well as our future supporters. We will soon be well equipped to win the fight and bring HOPE to Fredericksburg.” said Richard Falkenstein, Treasurer of The Hub of Hope’s Board of Directors. The entire community is invited to celebrate this momentous occasion. Additionally, Members of the Board of Directors, Board of Supervisors, members of the Leadership Board for the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce, and community partners/sponsors of the organization will be in attendance to provide words of support and celebrate this milestone. For a minimum donation of $25, HOPE HEROES t-shirts will be available at the event. Acceptable methods of payment are cash, check, card and cashapp.
