Despite the popular glorification of military service, African American veterans have often experienced racism both in and out of the military since the Civil War. Join us as guest speaker
Dr. Holly Pinheiro, Jr., professor of history at Furman University, leads a conversation about how military service has introduced economic and social instability that resonates for African American generations long after their soldiers left the battlefield.
Germanna Community Conversations are a series of free educational events exploring timely topics through open dialogue and discussion with local and national experts.
