Description
The Fredericksburg Area Museum (FAM) is pleased to announce their spring Homeschool Investigators programs. Homeschool Investigators focuses on hands-on learning through teamwork, collaboration, and problem-solving STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) activities. Journey with Lafayette (April 24th, 10am -11:30am): How did someone travel cross country two hundred years ago? In this program, families will be traveling with the Marquis de Lafayette on his grand tour. Students will investigate historic transportation including designing and testing their own boats. Be warned, the journey is not always a smooth one. This program is designed for children ages 8-12 years old. FAM welcomes all children accompanied by an adult. Program tickets are $8. All attendees over the age of two must purchase a ticket. Tickets are available for purchase at (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/homeschool-investigators-tickets-837973971707?aff=oddtdtcreator). Please note the museum will only be open to ticketholders. For more information please either contact Theresa Cramer at tcramer@famva.org, or visit us at www.famva.org. The FAM collects, researches, interprets, teaches, and preserves the history, heritage, and culture of the Fredericksburg region. We serve a diverse community through a commitment to inclusion, integrity, credibility, and relevance. We will facilitate an understanding and appreciation of how the acts of those who preceded us have shaped this community and the nation at large—providing both lessons and inspiration as we work together to forge a greater community.
