Military Affairs Council Breakfast Me...
Description
The Military Affairs Council is hosting
a Breakfast Meeting featuring
Congressman Rob Wittman
Representing Virginia’s First District
What's Ahead for the Regional Economy?
Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel in an April speech pushed a fiscal 2014 version of BRAC with an up-front cost of $2.4 billion, calling the process “a comprehensive and fair tool that allows communities a role in reuse decisions by them for their property.” It also “provides redevelopment assistance,” he said.
BRAC saves money in the long term, Hagel said.
Congressman Wittman will discuss the Readiness Subcommittees’ bill which would “prohibit the department from proposing, planning or initiating another round of Base Realignment and Closure.”
Sequestration has begun and everyone knows there have been and will be cutbacks in Federal spending. Can we be optimistic about the future and the potential opportunities for business that stem from activities in the Federal sector?
Join us to hear Congressman Wittman’s perspective on the Federal government situation.
