Founded in 1974 in Rocky Mount, Virginia, Carter Bank is a full service community bank headquartered in Martinsville, Virginia. Originally operating as Patriot Bank in Fredericksburg, the bank became Carter Bank & Trust in 2006 and shortened its name to Carter Bank in 2024 after celebrating its 50th anniversary.
