A Century of Tradition: The Legacy of Fredericksburg Country Club
As Fredericksburg Country Club proudly celebrates its 100th anniversary, it honors a legacy rooted in centuries of history and community spirit. At the heart of the club stands a historic manor house, originally known as Mannsfield Hall, constructed in 1819. This elegant estate has witnessed generations of change and served as a cornerstone of local culture. In the early 20th century, the property evolved into a social and recreational hub with the addition of a nine-hole golf course, tennis courts, and a swimming pool—formally establishing Fredericksburg Country Club as a gathering place for families and friends.
Over the decades, the club has hosted countless weddings, balls, meetings, and celebrations, becoming one of the region’s most prominent social centers. Today, the Fredericksburg Country Club thrives as a nonprofit, family-oriented private club with over 500 members. Its golf, tennis, and pool facilities remain in excellent condition and central to club life. The charm of the original 1819 mansion has been lovingly preserved and enhanced with modern amenities to meet the needs of contemporary members.
Nestled among some of Virginia’s most picturesque grounds, FCC continues to welcome guests for luncheons, youth activities, weddings, bridge games, banquets, and vibrant community events. As the club marks its centennial year, it celebrates a rich history while looking ahead with vision—committed to honoring tradition and embracing the future. With a championship golf course, tennis and pickleball courts, junior sports programs, youth camps, a full-service pool, and festive holiday events, Fredericksburg Country Club remains a cherished space where all generations can connect and thrive.
