Description
Please join us for our first Speaker Series of 2019. This series is offered without charge to WHM members and the public alike. This month?s speaker will be Mark Maloy, a historian with the National Park Service in Virginia. He will be speaking on Hugh Mercer and the battles of Trenton and Princeton in the Revolutionary War. He is the author of Victory or Death: The Battles of Trenton and Princeton, December 25, 1776 ? January 3, 1777, one of the inaugural volumes in the Emerging Revolutionary War Series. He works for the George Washington Memorial Parkway, which administers important historic sites such as Arlington House and the Robert E. Lee Memorial. He holds an undergraduate degree in History from the College of William and Mary and a graduate degree in History from George Mason University, and he has worked at numerous public historic sites and archaeological digs for the past ten years. He will have copies of his book available for sale. The lecture will be held at the Central Rappahannock Regional Library (Fredericksburg) at 10am on Thursday, March 7th, in the Theater Room. We hope to see you there - and please bring a friend! ? WHM?s 2019 Speaker Series is generously sponsored by Lewis Insurance Associates.
