Strategic Resources Officer
Position Summary:
The Strategic Resources Officer builds and sustains meaningful donor relationships by connecting philanthropic interests with the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank’s (FRFB) strategic priorities. This role is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding individual and corporate donors to secure strategic gifts - including sponsorships and annual support - that advance the FRFB’s mission and long-term impact.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- In partnership with the CEO and Director of Strategic Initiatives, assist in designing and implementing an annual fundraising plan focused on strategic gifts.
- ?Grow revenue through increased levels of giving within targeted individual and corporate donors, including sponsorships and annual gifts.
- Identify, cultivate, and solicit prospective donors whose philanthropic interests align with FRFB’s strategic initiatives and funding priorities.
- Create, execute, and track a moves management strategy for all donors in the assigned portfolio.
- Develop donor-facing materials, including sponsorship packets, case statements, and programmatic highlights, that communicate FRFB’s strategic priorities and funding opportunities.
- Ensure timely, personalized acknowledgment of strategic gifts, including thank-you letters, calls, and other outreach, engaging the CEO and/or the Director of Strategic Initiatives as appropriate.
- Engage the CEO and board leadership in meaningful donor conversations to strengthen relationships and expand organizational connectivity.
- Analyze and report on fundraising performance against established goals and metrics; adjust donor engagement strategies as needed to achieve revenue targets.
- Maintain positive, collaborative relationships with staff and donors to support long-term engagement with FRFB and the people we serve.
- Represent the FRFB at external events and speaking engagements to build brand awareness and community relationships.
Core Skills:
- Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Full computer proficiency with standard Google Suite applications, including Sheets and Docs.
- Ability to relate effectively with other staff, volunteers, community partners, and the general public.
- Ability to complete work in an accurate, useful, and timely manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in fund development for a nonprofit organization
- Valid VA Driver’s License
