Recruiter - Hybrid

Matern Staffing is hiring a full-time Recruiter (hybrid schedule) to support the recruitment and onboarding efforts of a non-profit retail organization in Fredericksburg, VA. This is a temporary position, with the potential of temp-to-hire.  

As the Recruiter, you’ll own the full-cycle hiring process, from sourcing and screening to onboarding and orientation, for candidates. You’ll use your strategic mindset and strong communication skills to align talent acquisition with company goals and values. Your precision and commitment to accuracy will drive forward their mission of transforming lives through meaningful employment. 

Salary:

• $19-$23/hr  

Schedule:

• Monday–Friday (Hybrid schedule with occasional travel for orientations, hiring events, and training) 

What You’ll Do: 

• Manage recruitment for store, administrative, and support roles 
• Develop sourcing strategies to attract top talent 
• Collaborate with hiring managers to define role requirements and candidate profiles 
• Maintain the applicant tracking system, post jobs, and process offers and onboarding paperwork 
• Coordinate background checks, drug screens, and employment eligibility verification 
• Facilitate new hire orientation, internal promotions, and employee status changes 
• Ensure compliance with employment laws, internal policies, and labor posting requirements 
• Track and report recruitment metrics while partnering with third-party HR services as needed 

What You’ll Do: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field 
• 3+ years of recruiting experience, preferably in high-volume or retail environments 
• Proficiency in sourcing across platforms (job boards, social media, referrals, networking) 
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills 
• Ability to manage multiple open roles with excellent attention to detail and organization 
• Experience with ATS, HRIS systems, and Microsoft Office 
• Knowledge of employment laws, compliance standards, and recruitment best practices 
• Willingness to travel bi-weekly and work in a hybrid environment with a private home office setup
