Part-Time Operations Manager

Matern Staffing is hiring a part-time Warehouse Operations Manager (job id 3413) for our partner, a thriving food production facility in Fredericksburg, VA. In this role, you’ll oversee the end-to-end flow of warehouse and production operations - from receiving raw ingredients to shipping finished products - ensuring everything runs efficiently, safely, and on schedule.

By blending strategic oversight with daily involvement, you’ll help the facility meet production goals, maintain top-quality standards, and keep customers enjoying fresh, in-demand products. 

Salary: $20.69/hr 

Schedule: Monday thru Wednesday 9am-5pm 

What You’ll Do: 

• Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, inspection, storage, and documentation to ensure accuracy, safety, and efficiency 
• Maintain optimal stock levels through audits, cycle counts, loss prevention, and organized warehouse layout 
• Direct inbound/outbound shipments, ensuring timely, accurate deliveries and proper documentation (BOLs, packing slips, etc.) 
• Partner with carriers/vendors to resolve issues, improve performance, and prevent delays 
• Plan, schedule, and monitor production to meet targets, quality standards, and deadlines 
• Identify bottlenecks, maintain equipment, and implement workflow improvements 
• Develop, maintain, and train staff on SOPs to standardize and scale warehouse/production processes 
• Continuously improve systems to enhance visibility, accuracy, and operational efficiency 
• Lead, train, and support warehouse/production staff while fostering accountability, safety, and continuous improvement 
• Enforce OSHA/regulatory compliance, conduct safety inspections, and prepare for audits 
• Collaborate with leadership to align operations with company growth goals, reducing costs and improving service levels 

What You'll Need: 

• Previous experience (3+ years) in warehouse or operations management 
• Experience writing SOPs and implementing operational systems 
• Familiar with inventory tracking software, shipping platforms, and production workflows 
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks 
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

Preferred: Small business/start-up warehouse experience; knowledge of lean/5S; data-driven decision-making skills
