The National Museum of the Marine Corps is located in the town of Triangle, VA just off I-95 exit 150, 36 miles south of Washington, D.C., and 76 miles north of Richmond, VA.

About Us

The Marine Corps Heritage Foundation (MCHF) is a Section 501 ©(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve and promulgate the history, traditions and culture of the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) as well as to educate all Americans in its virtues. The Foundation vigorously seeks financial support to provide continued leadership, strategic direction and financial oversight in supporting and expanding programs at the National Museum of the Marine Corps and beyond its walls. Since opening to the public on November 10, 2006, the National Museum of the Marine Corps has quickly become a place for Marines to convene, share their experiences, celebrate their victories and honor their fallen. Currently the Museum includes over 1,000 artifacts including tanks, aircraft, small arms, uniforms and over 1,800 photographs, letters and illustrations. Interactive and immersive experiences allow guests to travel along the frozen TokTong pass in Korea amidst enemy troops, disembark a helicopter into the landing zone atop Hill 881 South in Vietnam and experience American history as seen through the eyes of Marines.

The Marine Corp Heritage Foundation supports the National Museum of the Marine Corps.
Open daily from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, except Christmas, the Museum offers free admission and parking to the general public.
World-class interactive exhibits using the most innovative technology surround visitors with irreplaceable artifacts and immerse them in the sights and sounds of Marines in action.
Please allow a minimum of 3-4 hours to tour the galleries, and additional time to walk through Semper Fidelis Memorial Park.
The Children’s Gallery mimics the Museum’s theme of U.S. and world history as seen through the eyes of Marines but scaled down to kid size with hands-on interactive exhibits.
Located on the Second Deck, the Tavern seats up to 87 and is open to the public, offering a full lunch menu and alcoholic beverage service.
Located on the Second Deck, the Devil Dog Diner is a cafeteria-style restaurant that honors Marine mess operations.
Located on the First Deck off the Leatherneck Gallery, the Medal of Honor Theater is a giant-screen certified theater with one of a kind sound and projection system, featuring stadium seating for 369. Shown daily in the Theater is signature film We, The Marines which follows the journey of Marines from boot camp to training, deployment and finally homecoming.
Located on the First Deck off the Leatherneck Gallery, the Museum Store carries a full line of Marine themed clothing, collectables, books and toys.
Located in the Museum's Making Marines gallery, this exhibit represents a shooting range. Visitors can come in and practice their marksmanship in the laser simulated rifle range. Recommended for ages 5 and up.
Semper Fidelis Memorial Park includes 1.07 miles of trails lined with over 30,000 commemorative bricks and over 40 monuments and memorials honoring Marines of the past and present.
