Unicorn - Infrastructure and Software Test Engineer 2024-1372

We are looking for an experienced Software and Infrastructure Test Engineer to work on a DevSecOps team supporting a complex software system - doing both system testing and some user-interface testing. Candidates should have at least 7 years of software and system testing experience, including automated testing, to join our team and provide full-spectrum test support (i.e., system, integration, unit, end-to-end, security, and performance). Candidates will research HW and infrastructure specifications and interoperability to provide recommendations to the team.
Clearance
An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.
Requirements
- United States Citizenship is required
- Current Top Secret clearance required
- Sec+ certification or commitment to get Sec+ within six-months of hire
- Experience with automated UI test tools (e.g., TestCafé Studio, Selenium, Cucumber etc.)
- Experience with Infrastructure testing
- Gitlab for product administration, capability to do merge requests
- Troubleshoot hardware and software
- Ability to activate pods, troubleshoot system issues
- Some experience managing Linux servers
- Significant experience with application monitoring tools
- Proficiency with Kubernetes and ArgoCD
- Ability to understand JavaScript
- Experience with Jira or similar work management and software development tools (e.g,, Azure DevOps, GitLab, Confluence)
- Experience with patching, deploying code releases, and work supporting the a programs Authority to Operate (ATO)
- Familiarity with ELK stack (Logstash, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes)
Responsibilities
- Work at a Government site in Dahlgren 3-5 days per week
- Write automated test scripts to assess functionality within the system User Interface (UI)
- Write and execute thorough test cases and procedures
- Contribute to work item development (especially testing criteria) Troubleshoot failed automated tests
- Support feature and validation testing across multiple domains
- Learn and utilize project technologies for in depth error root cause analysis (e.g. RMQ)
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Proficiency in writing JavaScript
- Knowledge of C#, Ruby, SQL
- Familiarity with cyber work (SCAP, ACAS, STIGs, etc.)

Compensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements.
The projected annual compensation range for this position is $96,000 - $158,000 (USD). This estimate reflects the standard salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
